GhillieTEX™ I.R. Signature Reduction Technology
ITW's original Fastex Side Release Buckles lightened the load of the U.S. Armed Forces over 25 years ago. Today, as technology has added new threats to the battlefield, ITW Fastex®/Nexus N.A. has accepted the challenge and developed products that both support and protect our troops.

The new GhillieTEX™products offer the cloacking benefits of IR Signatal Reduction, increased field durability and the high quality that has become synonymous with Fastex. We, at ITW Fastex®/Nexus N.A., understand that our troops must trust the equipment they rely on everyday. Theese products have been designed to enhance survivability in the fierce environment of today's war zones.

We take pride in the support of our troops by providing the specific products and development resources that they require. This dedication is the reason both the Military specifies and top kit manufacturers choose ITW Fastex®/Nexus N.A.

PyroTEX™ Fire Resistant Technology

Factor Green™
In the production of our standard products, ITW Nexus North America uses state of the art reclamation equipment; waste produced during molding is immediately reclaimed, minimizing effort, cost, and energy in a closed loop system. Under controlled conditions, and depending on the product, this reclaimed waste material content ranges between 10% and 25% of our standard products.FactorGreen™ is an evolutionary response to market demand, and takes environmental responsibility to the next level by becoming a recycler of materials generated by outside sources.

We have used this environmentally conscious technique for over 25 years in the United States.

FactorGreen™ product characteristics are as follows:

FactorGreen™ offerings are manufactured using reclaimed material from uncontrolled outside sources and may have excessive lot-to-lot inconsistencies and unknown content that may result in unpredictable product performance. Any product performance figures given will be for reference only and are not to be used as guaranteed product performance figures.

Please contact your ITW Nexus North America sales representative for more details regarding the FactorGreen™ program.

General Material Descriptions:

Acetal is a crystalline thermoplastic polymer material. Acetal characteristically has excellent tensile strength, stiffness, surface hardness and chemical resistance. Acetal has excellent flexural memory and property retention when subjected to repeated loading. The service temperature range, or operating temperature range for our products molded from Acetal resin is  -40F to 140F. Acetal is recommended for high performance applications. Physical properties remain consistent across a wide range of temperature, relative humidity, and weather conditions.

Nexcel is a crystalline thermoplastic polyolefin-based polymer material. Nexcel is lightweight material. Nexcel has good tensile strength, stiffness, chemical resistance and flexural memory. In general, the properties of Nexcel are well below those of Acetal. The normal short-term use temperature range is 0°F to +270°F (-18°C to +132°C). Nexcel provides good product integrity, but is recommended only for basic and low performance applications. Physical properties remain consistent across a wide range of relative humidity conditions, but fall off at low temperatures.

Supertough Nylon is an impact modified crystalline thermoplastic polyamide resin. The defining Supertough Nylon characteristic is superior resistance to repeated impact loads. This material maintains good tensile strength, chemical resistance, stiffness and flexural memory. Nylon is excellent in high temperature applications. The normal short-term use temperature range is –40°F to +390°F (-40°C to +199°C). Nylon is, however, a hydroscopic resin. Therefore, physical properties will vary as the relative humidity changes. When dry, tensile strength is higher and impact is lower. When wet, tensile strength is low and impact strength is very high. Supertough is recommended for specific products or applications where extreme impact resistance is needed.

Nexlon is an impact modified crystalline thermoplastic polyamide resin. As with Supertough Nylon, the defining characteristic is resistance to repeated impact loads. Although Nexlon has impact resistance, it is lower than Supertough Nylon. Nexlon is recommended for specific products or applications that experience some impact, but not extreme impact, which is better suited for Supertough Nylon.

Nylon 6/6 is a thermoplastic polyamide resin. This material maintains good tensile strength, chemical resistance, stiffness and flexural memory. Nylon is excellent in high temperature applications. The normal short-term use temperature range is –40°F to +390°F (-40°C to +199°C). Nylon is however, a hydroscopic resin, therefore, physical properties will vary as the relative humidity changes. When dry, tensile strength is higher and impact is lower. When wet, tensile strength is lower and impact strength is higher.

Elastomeric Resin is a thermoplastic material. It is a flexible plastic that bridges the gap between rubbery elastomers and rigid plastics. In general, it exhibits good low temperature flexibility, good toughness, chemical resistance and excellent abrasion resistance. Normal short-term use temperature range is 0°F to +293°F (-18°C to +145°C). Material properties will change drastically outside of this range. This temperature range is material-based and individual parts may perform differently.
